The river Segno flows into the sea in the town of Vado Ligure. Birdwatching around the mouth of the river Segno (Foce del Segno) is particularly good for species of ducks, seabirds or other wintering birds. Seagulls (Kokmeeuw, Geelpootmeeuw, Kleine Mantelmeeuw), loons (Parelduiker and rarely IJsduiker) and grebes (Fuut, Kuifduiker, Geoorde Fuut) are especially frequent. While the beach is often frequented by waders, herons and other small passerines associated with marshy areas. In 2025 a specimen of (possible) wild Rotgans was observed.

Il fiume Segno sfocia nel comune di Vado Ligure. Il birdwatching attorno alla foce del fiume Segno (Foce del Segno) è particolarmente indicato per osservare specie di anatre, uccelli marini o altri uccelli svernanti, come gabbiani, svassi. La spiaggia è invece spesso frequentata da limicoli, aironi e altri piccoli passeriformi tipici delle zone paludose. Nel 2025 è stato osservato un esemplare di (probabile) Rotgans selvatica.

The basin of the stream Segno is largely included in the municipality of Vado Ligure (and in the past in the municipality of Segno, now abolished), and to a lesser extent affects the municipalities of Quiliano and Bergeggi. It borders to the north with the basin of the Quiliano stream, to the west with that of the Sciusa and to the south with that of some smaller streams that flow directly into the sea.

Italiano: Il bacino del torrente Segno è in gran parte compreso nel comune di Vado Ligure (e in passato nel comune di Segno, ora soppresso), e in misura minore interessa i comuni di Quiliano e Bergeggi. Confina a nord con il bacino del torrente Quiliano, a ovest con quello dello Sciusa e a sud con quello di alcuni corsi d'acqua minori che sfociano direttamente in mare.
