Beschrijving
The reserve is of great international importance and is home to 20 different habitats, including coastlines, Mediterranean scrub, and wetlands. Consequently, numerous species can be observed here throughout the year and during migration. The area can be visited year-round via easy routes and strategic observation points, offering its best at dawn, dusk, and during the spring and autumn migratory periods. You can observe birds such as Strandplevier, Scholekster, Bruine Kiekendief, IJsvogel, Roerdomp and many others (see list below).

Italiano: Torre Guaceto è un ecosistema di eccezionale valore per il birdwatching grazie alla varietà di habitat e come punto strategico per la migrazione. La zona della riserva è di grande importanza internazionale ed è interessata dalla presenza di 20 habitat differenti tra litorale, macchia mediterranea e zona umida e di conseguenza numerose sono le specie che frequentano quest'area in tutti i mesi dell'anno e durante la migrazione. L'area è visitabile tutto l'hanno con percorsi facili e punti di osservazione strategici, offrendo il meglio all'alba e al tramonto o nei periodi legati alla migrazione in autunno e primavera.

To reach the Al Gawsit Visitor Center from the SS 379 Bari-Brindisi-Lecce highway, take the Serranova exit and continue toward Serranova. To reach the Reserve, take the SS 379 Bari-Brindisi-Lecce highway at the Torre Guaceto-Punta Penna Grossa exit and follow the seafront road to the service area. Alternatively, from the SS 379 highway, take the Apani exit and continue to the service area. Press P on the map for directions.

Italiano: Per raggiungere il Centro Visite Al Gawsit dalla SS n. 379 Bari-Brindisi-Lecce occorre prendere l’uscita Serranova e proseguire per Serranova; per la Riserva dalla SS 379 Bari-Brindisi-Lecce occorre prendere l’uscita Torre Guaceto-Punta Penna Grossa e percorrere la complanare lato mare, fino all’area servizi della zona, oppure sempre dalla SS 379 occorre prendere l’uscita Apani e proseguire fino all’area servizi della zona.
