If you happen to be in the area visiting the Giraffe Centre then it is well worth taking a walk along the nature trail opposite the Giraffe Centre. There is no entrance fee for the trail. It is located in highland dry forest and goes down to small stream. In the forest and bushes you might be able to spot African Paradise-Flycatcher , Bronze Sunbird , Baglafecht Weaver , Cinnamon-chested Flycatcher and White-browed Robin-Chat.
Down by the stream you can find Hadada Ibis, Sacred Ibis and Common Bulbul. And in open glades the African Harrier-Hawk, Marabou Stork, Pied Crow and Olive Thrush.
The Giraffe Centre itself is home to the Rothschild Giraffe which is an endangered supspecies, so it is worth visiting. You could also see warthogs and vervet monkeys.

The Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is located on Nyumbi Road, off Duma Road in the Lang’ata suburb, about 15 km from Nairobi’s city centre. The trail is located next to the Giraffe Centre and parking is free. However, it can very busy at weekends and during peak tourist season. Best to visit on weekdays in the early morning. You can only explore this area by foot. The circular walking route is about 1,5 km in total.
