Oloolua Nature Trail

Karen, Nairobi  >  Kenya

A very nice place to go birding if you happen to be in Karen because here you stand a great chance of spotting the beautiful Hartlaub's Turaco.

Beschrijving

Oloolua Nature Trail is a scenic nature reserve in a forest of indigenous trees, which also has a few beautiful waterfalls that drain into the Mbagathi River that flows through the area. In the forest and by the river you will be able see Red-cheeked Cordonbleu, Baglafecht Weaver, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Pied Crow, White-eyed Slaty-Flycatcher, Yellow-breasted Apalis and Yellow-rumped Serin.

The trail also has a resting point in a mini bamboo forest and a papyrus swamp where you would be able to spot Hadada Ibis, Sacred Ibis, Variable Sunbird, Common Bulbul and African Harrier-Hawk.

And a nice addition are the resident Syke's Monkeys and Vervet Monkeys.
