Ringmus, Cirlgors, Putter, Keep, Koperwiek, IJsvogel, Oeverzwaluw, Staartmees, Koolmees, Pimpelmees, Zwarte Mees, Grote Bonte Specht, Kleine Bonte Specht, Groene Specht and Aalscholver can all be found around this area.

Santo Aleixo de Além Tâmega is located 80 km east of Braga. Access mainly through N312 (via N206, exiting from A7 highway). The best way to explore the area is by walking through the village. Parking is available at multiple points (next to the Moinho café, next to the church or the cemetery, for example). Press P on the map for directions. There are hiking trails available.
