This is a great place for migrant waterbirds and other lake birds! A lot of rare birds visit this island each year and there is always something interesting to see! Most rarities turn up in April, May, September or October.
Wintering waterfowl including Roodkeelduiker, Roodhalsfuut, other Grebes, several species of Duck, including IJseend. Migrating waders in spring and autumn, including Scholekster, Steltkluut, Kluut, Zwarte Ruiter, Strandplevier, Zilverplevier, Steenloper, Rosse Grutto and many more. Also Dwergmeeuw, Porseleinhoen, Zwarte Stern, Witvleugelstern and Witwangstern and raptors and passerines pass over this spot.
