Beschrijving
The area of Kersele Sweetgum Forest is a small stream delta on the western coast of Köyceğiz Lake. Very isolated. Due to its wet structure, it is a rare area for Anatolian sweetgum in the region. Some parts are effected by seasonal floods. The pine forests and lake narrow the area. Good spot for discover new species, not just birds but mammals and reptiles too. Among the birds you can encounter are Eleonora's Valk, Grauwe Klauwier, Maskerklauwier, Hop, Bijeneter, Dwergooruil, Kleine Bonte Specht, Oostelijke Vale Spotvogel, Grote Karekiet, IJsvogel, Kwak and Nachtzwaluw.

Public transport is very limited to the area, only direct minibuses from Köyceğiz to Ekincik. A private car or hitchiking are best options to reach the area. Click on the P in the map to get directions.

A very isolated location, no human settlement in the surroundings. Locals use the area for grazing, so it is wise to be cautious for roaming cattle between marshes. In winter, it is possible to see wild mammals.
