Beschrijving
Glasfynydd Forest has mostly moorland and woodland species eg Roodborsttapuit, Schots sneeuwhoen, Gekraagde Roodstaart, Watersnip, Bokje, Smelleken, Torenvalk and Rode Wouw. In winter Klapekster, Kruisbek, Goudvink, Sijs and Kleine Barmsijs. Few birds on the reservoir but Wintertaling, Blauwe Reiger and Grote Zaagbek possible. Waterspreeuw and Grote Gele Kwikstaart below the dam. For Nachtzwaluw, look for a recently felled forest area with regrowth of bracken, bramble etc - only active after dark between May and August.

From Swansea take A4067 Tawe valley road then left two miles beyond Danyrogof caves. From A40 Brecon/Llandovery road, turn south from Trecastle. Buses through Trecastle regularly. Train station at Llandovery. The circular walk around the reservoir is 8 km.
