Beschrijving
Nedern Brook Wetlands is an area of rough and cultivated pasture, scrub and some trees. Breeding birds such as Tureluur, Gele Kwikstaart, Grauwe Vliegenvanger and Rietgors, augmented when flooded by passage waders, Kleine Zwaan, up to 1,000 Smient, Kleine Zilverreiger, Koereiger and Blauwe Reiger. In dry summers, persicaria, yellow rattle, willowherb and thistles abound, providing food for finches.

Easy access from M48 or M4. Car parks (free) at west end of interesting Roman village of Caerwent, or at Caldicot castle. 3 small laybys on Crick to Caldicot road, opposite David Broome Equestrian Centre. Footpaths cross the area but inaccessible when flooded. Click on a P in the map to get directions to a parking.
