Beschrijving
Treborth Botanic Garden covers an area of 18 hectares on the shores of the Menai Strait and has been owned by Bangor University since 1960. The garden comprises 15 hectares of native woodland, 2 hectares of species rich unimproved grassland and 1 hectare managed orchard and many mature trees and shrubs. Among the birds you can observe in the area are Grote Bonte Specht, Sijs, Blauwe Reiger, Kleine Zilverreiger, Aalscholver, Kuifaalscholver, Groenling, Gaai, Taigaboomkruiper, Boomklever, Pimpelmees, Koolmees and Putter.

Treborth Botanic Gardens is situated on the Gwynedd bank of the Menai Straits, between the Menai Bridge and the Britannia Bridge. It can be accessed by car and public transport from the Menai Bridge end. Bus numbers X4, 4A, 57 and 62 run from Bangor Rail Station and Bangor Bus Station to the Antelope Pub. The Garden is open during daylight hours and free to visit (donations are appreciated). There is a small car park at the Garden. Click on the P in the map for directions. If this area is full there is additional parking beyond the Garden at the Athletics Track. You can also cycle from Bangor or further afield.
