Toegang

Cedar Ridge Preserve is located just 20 minutes southwest of downtown Dallas. From downtown Dallas take Interstate 20 West, then exit onto Mountain Creek Parkway. Follow Mountain Creek Parkway south until you reach the entrance at 7171 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75249. There is a gravel parking lot and marked spaces inside the Preserve. Overflow parking is available down the street at Park in the Woods Recreation Center, 6801 Mountain Creek Parkway. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.

There’s limited public transit directly to the preserve, so driving is recommended. The preserve is open Tuesday to Sunday, 6:30 AM to dusk (closed Mondays). Admission is free, but a $5 donation is suggested to support conservation efforts.

The trails vary in difficulty, catering to both casual walkers and experienced hikers. Notable trails include the Cattail Pond Trail, which leads to a pond surrounded by wildflowers, and the Escarpment Trail, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 4 miles. There are restrooms at the entrance near the main parking lot, but not along the trails. The Little Bluestem Trail (1) and Butterfly Garden are ADA accessible.
