Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge is a 242-acre nature refuge located on a peninsula between the Sakonnet River and Rhode Island Sound. The habitat is mainly unmoved fields, scrub bushes and rocky coastline. This destination is known for its wintering species such as Harlequin Duck, Surf Scoter, White-winged Scoter, Black Scoter, Greater Scaup, Lesser Scaup, Long-tailed Duck, Common Eider, Common Goldeneye, Red-breasted Merganser and most years Snowy Owls.

Sachuest Point is is located on a peninsula in the southeasternmost part of the town of Middletown. There is a parking near the visitor center. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. There is limited public transport access to the site.
Over 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of well marked walking trails loop around the coastline of the property. There are several viewing platforms. Time allowed for a visit should be roughly 1-2 hours.
