Description
Get up early with high tide, before the dogwalkers appear, and the beach will have plenty of birds in easy reach of a short stroll. Tjeld, Storspove, Gråhegre and Rødstilk are all likely on the beach around the waterline. Steinvender, Kråke and Linerle ssp yarrellii may be more likely on exposed seaweed or flotsam around the tide mark. Kornkråke is also possible. Toppskarv is most likely hauled out on rocky outcrops, although Storskarv is becoming more common in recent times. Hettemåke is common with occasional Svartehavsmåke. Ærfugl and Stokkand are likely in the water.
For a slightly longer walk a path goes along the cliffs at the north end of the bay where Skjærpiplerke, Svartstrupe and Alpekråke could be encountered.
