Description

Its a saline type of pond which sometimes turns a pink or reddish hue. It is a natural occurrence that happens occasionally due to the proliferation of a pigmented species of protozoan, an organism similar to algae in a water. In Dubai every place with open water attracts both people to have a walk, jogging or a picnic and several species of birds. At the pond you can spot typical waterbirds like Strandhegre, Stylteløper and Storskarv as well as urban birds like Huskråke, Hyrdestær and many others.
