Description
Along the lane close to the carpark Pilfink are quite common, one of the few places in Cheshire. Unusual waterfowl may be found on any of the large lakes, however a telescope is recommended as views can be quite distant. Taffeland, Kvinand, Laksand are likely in winter, Niland can be quite frequent, and if lucky, unusual species such as Tundragås or Svarthalsdykker can occasionally show up.
The woods, forest and field hedgerow adjacent to the lakes are a good place to find the common tits and finches. All 3 wood peckers are reported, Flaggspett quite frequent, Grønnspett occasional, Dvergspett rarely. Large flocks of Bokfink can occur, as well as Stillits, Grønnfink and an occasional Bjørkefink.
