Description
Brandon Marsh has 8 bird hides situated around the reserve, overlooking pools hosting flocks of Brunnakke, Krikkand and Skjeand in winter, amongst smaller numbers of Kvinand. Scrapes host passage waders in spring and autumn, with breeding Rødstilk, Tjeld and Dverglo in summer. Other notable breeding species include good numbers of Rørsanger, Sivsanger and Cettisanger, Gjøk and Vannrikse. Lerkefalk are everpresent throughout summer and into autumn. During the winter Brandon is often host to a Caspian Gull which winters amongst the gulls on East Marsh, with a few Yellow-legged Gulls mixed in too. Notable rarities over the last few years have included Fjellmyrløper and Alaskasnipe, Polarsvømmesnipe, Vendehals and Rødhodevarsler.

Located off Brandon lane, best access is by driving but it is possible to cycle or walk from nearby Brandon village or Binley. Once parked, explore the reserve on foot.
