Description
The Deben Estuary is a nationally and internationally significant wintering area for up to 6,000 Heilo, 600 Svarthalespove, Rødstilk and 400+ Avosett. Also Myrsnipe, Polarsnipe, Tundralo and Vipe. Kvinand at Martlesham Creek and Islom at Ramsholt. Toppdykker, Horndykker, Svarthalsdykker and Vannrikse possible. Small flock of Bergirisk most winters. High tides are best for seeing roosting waders, check tide times and height first (see the link below). Take care not to get cut off by exceptionally high tides.

Access
From Ipswich take A12 to Woodbridge then various minor roads to Waldringfield on south bank or Bawdsey on north bank. Boat hire available Woodbridge or Waldringfield.
