Description
Lavernock Point usual seawatch species eg Tjeld, Svartand, Havsule, Havhest, Storjo, petrels, Krykkje, Vandrefalk, Svartehavsmåke and terns. Breeding species include Tornsanger, Munk and Skjærpiplerke. Migrating flocks of Rødvingetrost, Gråtrost, Tornirisk, waders, Stillits and 1,000s of Ringdue. The beach is good for triassic and jurassic fossils such as ammonites, giant oysters, bones and teeth of marine reptiles. The sea here has a high tidal range and sweeps in very quickly. Check tide times (see the link below) before venturing to the shoreline and avoid overhanging cliffs.

Access
From M4 junction 33 go south on A4232, then right at first interchange on A4060, continue past Barry and through Sully village. Sign to Lavernock on right 2 miles further on.
