Sutton Courtenay Gravel Pits has numerous footpaths which may be diverted in case of active gravel extraction. Egretthegre, Silkehegre and Kuhegre are present. Pilfink, Sandsvale and warblers breed. In winter, there may be, Kaspimåke, Grønlandsmåke, Polarmåke, Vannrikse, Ringand and waders.

From Oxford take A34 south, go left at Tesco Abingdon interchange, first right to Drayton, right again to Sutton Courtenay. 2 car parks in village. Or seek permission to park at Appleford village hall. Train station in Appleford, bus stops in both villages.
