The Barbierbeek Valley consists of wet grasslands, scrub, field margins with wooded edges, rows of trees, and a meandering brook. All of this provides an attractive habitat for various bird species. The course of the brook is untouched by human intervention, which is exceptional in Flanders.

Nederlands: De Barbierbeekvallei bestaat uit een mix van beekoevers, vochtige graslanden, struwelen en bosjes, perceelsranden met houtkanten, bomenrijen en een meanderende beek. Dit alles biedt een aantrekkelijke leefomgeving voor diverse vogelsoorten. De loop van de beek is zonder menselijke ingrepen, wat uitzonderlijk is in Vlaanderen.

The Barbierbeekvallei is accessible via Beekstraat and Oude Kerkstraat in Kruibeke. The area extends around Driebekenstraat, Houtenkruisstraat, Kerkstraat, Oude Kerkstraat, and Pismolenstraat. Parking is available, among other places, near O.L.Vrouwplein in Kruibeke. The circular route shown on the map is approximately 3 km.
