The area consists of the settling ponds of the old sugar factory in Veurne. Many water birds can be seen. When the water level is low, you can also see some waders. Furthermore, there is a small woodland and a stretch of marshy area.

Nederlands: Decantatiebekkens van de oude suikerfabriek in Veurne. Klein leuk gebiedje in het centrum van Veurne. Jammer dat er meer en meer fabrieken komen, maar voor de rest wel leuk gebiedje. Er zijn veel watervogels te zien. Als het water laag staat kun je ook wat steltlopers zien. Verder is er een klein bosje en een stuk moerassig gebied.

The old sugar factory is located in the center of Veurne. You can park in the car park near the petting zoo. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. There is no real walking route, but you can explore parts of the area on foot.

Nederlands: De oude suikerfabriek ligt in het centrum van Veurne. Je kan er parkeren op parking bij de kinderboerderij. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Er is geen echte wandelroute maar je kunt het gebied wel deels te voet verkennen.
