Étang du Rouillard is a recreational area that offers many birds a habitat during the breeding season. Numerous pairs of łabędź niemy, bernikla kanadyjska, łyska, krzyżówka and perkoz dwuczuby breed in the area. A host of nesting passerines accompany them, such as pliszka siwa, słowik rdzawy, gajówka and zaganiacz szczebiotliwy. Other species that can be observed include rybitwa rzeczna, czapla siwa, pustułka (zwyczajna) and sometimes kobuz. During migration birds like sieweczka rzeczna, krwawodziób, czajka and kulon (zwyczajny) make a stop annually on the grasslands near the airfield. Mainly at the beginning of the year mewa czarnogłowa can sometimes be observed. rokitniczka and trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) sometimes stop in the small reedbeds of the pond in early spring. muchołówka szara and muchołówka żałobna are regular in the autumn. Winter is also interesting to observe overwintering ducks.

Étang du Rouillard is located near the town of Limay, on the bank of the Seine River, west of Paris. There is a large parking lot near the lake. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. You can make a circular walk of 3,5 km around the two lakes.
