Opis
The salt marshes and grasslands of the bay of Mont Saint-Michel extend for several kilometers. Although the landscape is heavily impacted by artificial ponds for waterfowl hunting (hunting is mostly done at night), many birds can be seen in the area. The grassy areas support the presence of several passerines such as skowronek, lerka, świergotek łąkowy and siwerniak. Small mammals are also present on the site, allowing for a significant number of birds of prey such as uszatka błotna, błotniak stawowy, błotniak zbożowy, pustułka (zwyczajna), sokół wędrowny, drzemlik and sometimes błotniak łąkowy. The krogulec is also a common sight in the summer.
As for waders, bekasik is present on the site, as is kszyk. Other waders can also be observed. Several ducks and geese can be spotted. For example bernikla białolica, bernikla obrożna, ohar and krzyżówka. Late afternoon is the best time for observation.

Français: Zone très intéressante en hiver et pendant les migrations. Des dizaines de uszatka błotna ou des drzemlik peuvent y être observés. Les prairies et pâturages ras de la baie du Mont s'étendent sur plusieurs kilomètres. Le paysage est fortement impacté par des étangs artificiels pour la chasse du gibier d'eau (chasse se pratiquant plutôt la nuit) ce qui profite alors à certains anatidés, pour le meilleur et pour le pire... Les herbus favorisent la présence de plusieurs passereaux comme l' skowronek et l' lerka , le świergotek łąkowy et le siwerniak. Les micro-mammifères sont aussi présent sur le site permetttan la présence d'un cortège important de rapaces comme le uszatka błotna, le błotniak stawowy, le błotniak zbożowy et parfois le błotniak łąkowy, mais aussi le pustułka (zwyczajna), le sokół wędrowny et le drzemlik. Un pygargue à queue blanche issu d'un zoo de Mayenne s'y balade souvent aussi ! L' krogulec est aussi bien présent l'été.
Concernant les limicoles, la bekasik est présente sur le site, comme la kszyk. D'autres petits limicoles comme certains Scolopacidés peuvent être observés également. Pour les anatidés, des bernikla białolica peuvent être observés parmis les bernikla obrożna , les ohar ou les krzyżówka. La fin d'après-midi est la meilleur période d'obsevration.

Herbus du Mont Saint-Michel is located 12 km north of the town of Pontorson. Several roads lead to the area. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The dike is entirely accessible on foot and provides a high vantage point, thus allowing for easier observation of the species.
