Opis
The area is of great importance for breeding birds of semi-natural grasslands and wetlands. Around 80 species of breeding birds are recorded annually, including kulik wielki, czajka, bocian biały , perkozek, wodnik (zwyczajny), przepiórka, cyranka, cyraneczka, Płaskonos, krakwa, kobuz, kukułka, podróżniczek, kląskawka, trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) (rarely rokitniczka and trzciniak) and gąsiorek. Large flocks of gęś białoczelna use the area during winter, and also a small group of gęś mała from a rewilding project in Sweden has established a "tradition" to visit the area for wintering, starting in 2017. In late winter, the area serves as roosting place for hundreds of żuraw and during spring migration, a great variety of ducks and waders can be encountered. Occasionally, rarities show up (e.g. czapla purpurowa, podgorzałka, zielonka).
