Opis
Pelitözü Pond is a calm and accessible birding spot just outside Bilecik city centre. The area combines a freshwater pond, reedbeds, grassy edges, scattered trees and surrounding woodland, creating a variety of habitats that attract birds in all seasons.
The lake itself is home to waterbirds such as krzyżówka, perkozek, łyska, and czapla siwa. During migration periods, the number of species increases, with birds like perkoz dwuczuby, cyraneczka and occasionally kormoran using the lake as a resting stop. The surrounding trees and bushes hold species such as bogatka (zwyczajna), modraszka, kos (zwyczajny), zięba and dzwoniec. In open areas around the lake, you may also spot pliszka siwa and szczygieł.
What makes Pelitözü special is how easy and relaxed birding feels here. You can slowly walk around the lake, stop at viewpoints, and watch birds at close range. It’s an ideal place for beginners, photographers, or anyone looking for a peaceful birding session without long walks or difficult terrain.

NieDodatkowe informacje
Early morning and late afternoon are the best times for birding, especially for waterbirds and reflections on the lake. In winter, the lake can host interesting overwintering species, while spring brings more movement and song from woodland birds.
There are cafés, picnic areas and benches nearby, making this a comfortable location for longer visits. The area is popular with walkers and families, but birding remains productive, especially away from the busiest picnic spots.
