Opis
Resident and passage waders, especially at Haven and at Longhoughton Steel, 1.5 km north. Large siewka złota flocks in winter, with records of siewka szara and siewka złotawa. Passage kulik mniejszy and biegus krzywodzioby. Winter biegus morski. The tidal foreshore is unusual in that there are sheltered areas of shallow water protected from waves by reefs at almost all states of the tide, making it an important feeding location for the rybitwa białoczelnas that breed at the nearby Long Nanny (q.v.) and other terns.
nur rdzawoszyi and lodowiec, and occasionally nur czarnoszyi, can be seen offshore in winter, and nur białodzioby has been recorded.
Vagrant passerines on foreshore and at Seaton Point, 1.5 km south in 2020-22 included podróżniczek, zaganiacz and białorzytka pustynna. śnieguła regular in winter. gąsiorek and srokosz have both occurred on passage.
