Opis
Derwent Reservoir is always good for wildfowl, especially for wintering ducks, geese and swans. rybołów nest locally in spring/summer. One of the owl boxes near the hide is often occupied by płomykówka (zwyczajna) in breeding season. Waders (sieweczka rzeczna, sieweczka obrożna, czajka, krwawodziób, ostrygojad, kulik wielki, brodziec piskliwy) and woodland bird species (dzięcioł duży, kowalik, Tit and Finch flocks) are also regular.

Lay-by parking on minor road north from B6306 (Blanchland to Edmunbyers) close to the hide; also off B6306 near Edmundbyers. Can be reached by cycle from Consett or Corbridge but be aware of steep hills. No nearby public transport. See below link for more details.
