Opis
NWT Ranworth Broad is accessible to all and boasts a great visitor centre (which is open in the spring and summer) with wide views over Ranworth Broad. The broad (lake) itself offers chances to see perkoz dwuczuby, zimorodek and błotniak stawowy throughout the year, while the boardwalk trail supports sikora uboga, gil and wodnik (zwyczajny) may also be heard.
In winter, the broad will be busy with feeding wildfowl including świstun, cyraneczka, Płaskonos, rożeniec and a few czernica. In periods of harsh weather, bąk, ogorzałka and other scarcer species may be seen. The alder trees on the trail from the car park may hold good numbers of czyż and czeczotka brazowa.
In summer, there is a chance of seeing a flyover rybołów, but more likely, there will be plenty of rybitwa rzeczna feeding over the broad. Large gatherings of dymówka, oknówka and brzegówka may also be seen. Listen out for the songs of pierwiosnek, rokitniczka, trzcinniczek (zwyczajny) and even a kukułka along the boardwalk trail.
