Opis
Created in the 1990's on the site of a former reserve - Wath Ings. Has a track record of passage waders, especially in the Autumn. Around 30 species of wader are recorded annually - including a good chance of a rarity. A range of habitats mean a good species list can be built easily in a morning or afternoon. mazurek breed around the centre and the reedbeds have breeding bąk, wodnik (zwyczajny) and wąsatka. Breeding waders and wildfowl include szablodziób, cyranka and głowienka and the gull colony is of national importance and includes mewa czarnogłowa. A large szpak roost generally forms most winters.

There is a large car park off Manvers Way near Wombwell. It is around ten minutes from both junction 36 of the M1 and junction 37 of the A1M. Access to the reserve is via the visitor centre, which includes a shop and cafe. There is a charge for non members of the RSPB.
