Descrição
Bistraka is a small lake between the river Struma and the A3 motorway. Its a great place for Garça-pequena in the summer. Other birds you can observe include Garça-branca-pequena, Cegonha-preta, Cegonha-branca, Zarro-comum, Rouxinol-comum, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis Guarda-rios-comum, Abelharuco-comum, Andorinha-das-barreiras, Pica-pau-sírio and Rouxinol-grande-dos-caniços. Seasonal migration brings flocks of swallows, wagtails, and warblers, while wintering ducks and geese use the area as resting grounds. The area has also seen rarities like Zarro-castanho and Falcão-de-pés-vermelhos.

Bistraka lake is located south of the town of Blagoevgrad. It has easy access next to a road. Press P on the map for directions. You can make a 2,5 km circular walk around the lake and also walk to the dams in the Struma river.
