Ulvedybet is a reclaimed inlet of the Limfjord, now forming a brackish lake with several small islands and islets, surrounded by extensive reed beds. The lake is shallow, with a maximum depth of only about 1.5 metres, depending on rainfall and wind conditions. The surrounding landscape consists of meadows, small lakes, and marshes that provide valuable habitat for wildlife.
Some of the meadows are grazed by cattle, helping to maintain the open character of the area, although there is still a risk that parts of the reserve will gradually become overgrown. In recent years, sheep have also been introduced for conservation grazing.
The area is split by a single track road, where you drive between the inland Ulvedybet and fiord Limfjorden.
Birds you can observe include Ganso-comum, Pato-trombeteiro, Marreco, Arrabio, Mergulhão-de-crista, Mergulhão-pequeno, Pilrito-comum, Perna-vermelha-comum, Abibe-comum, Alfaiate, Borrelho-grande-de-coleira, Felosa-dos-juncos, Pisco-de-peito-azul, alvéola-amarela, Garça-branca-grande, Garça-real, Cisne-vulgar, and Cisne-bravo.

Ulvedybet is located just south of the A11 road between Åbybro and Brovst and can be reached either via Gjøl or Hammershøj. Both Ulvedybet and Gjøl Bredning can be viewed from the causeway, where several parking areas provide convenient access.
A small hill known as Bjerget, next to the car park just east of the causeway, offers excellent panoramic views across the reserve. At the western end of the causeway, a birdwatching tower brings visitors close to the ducks and wading birds that gather in the shallow waters of Ulvedybet's south-western corner.
On the eastern side of Ulvedybet, another small parking area along Gjølvej provides good viewing opportunities, particularly for waders and ducks. Gravel roads north of the lake also lead to a pumping station, from where there are fine views over the extensive reed beds. During the winter months, visitors may be lucky enough to see Tartaranhão-azulado arriving to roost.
Nearby, Oksholm Forest is crossed by a couple of roads connecting the A11 with Hammershøj, offering additional access to the surrounding landscape.
