The Avant-port is a port zone that includes several basins along the river Rhine. It is easy to see the birds from the riverbank. Many Cisne-vulgar and Galeirão-comum with some Pato-real and Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas year-round, and Zarro-negrinha and Guincho-comum in winter. During a cold winter, Merganso-grande is sometimes seen.
