Ballastière de Bischheim is a former gravel and sand extraction site that is transformed into a natural reserve and recreational area. In winter, it is easy to observe many Zarro-negrinha and Zarro-comum. There are also many Guincho-comum and Gaivota-de-patas-amarelas. In summer, there are only Cisne-vulgar, Galeirão-comum and Mergulhão-de-crista and a few Mergulhão-pequeno.

Ballastière de Bischheim is a former gravel and sand extraction site located in Bischheim near Strasbourg. It's quite far from the tram stop, so it's better to take the car or a bicycle. There's a large parking lot. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The circular walk around the lake is approximately 2 km.
