Descrição
The Baggersee Grötzingen is a former gravel pit that is now part nature reserve, part recreational (fishing, bathing zone). In winter there are usually good numbers of Zarro-negrinha, Frisada, Marrequinha-comum, Mergulhão-de-crista, Garça-real and Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas. They are sometimes joined by smaller numbers or individual Zarro-comum, Pato-olho-d'ouro, Pato-trombeteiro or Pato-mandarim.
Most years, some more uncommon or rare species appear at some point during the winter. In recent years, Zarro-bastardo, Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo, Pato-preto and Pato-fusco have all been seen here. The woods surrounding the lake are a good place to look out for less common woodland species, such as Pica-pau-cinzento, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno and Bico-grossudo.
