Descrição
Fahrlander (Fahrländer) See is a rewarding birding area, especially from spring to late autumn. On the western shore, a dike path runs alongside a wide belt of reeds, offering the opportunity to observe a large number of species – a sight unparalleled in both its quantity and diversity in the Potsdam area. During migration seasons, surprising birdwatching opportunities are regularly available. Ample parking is provided, and a path of about 45 minutes is easily walkable.
On the northern shore (which lacks direct parking), a small hill (near the signposted center of Brandenburg) can be climbed, offering a view of almost the entire lake with a spotting scope. Birds that can be observed regularly and reliably include Pisco-de-peito-azul, Chapim-de-bigode, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Felosa-dos-juncos, Felosa-unicolor, rouxinol-dos-caniços, Rouxinol-grande-dos-caniços, Pombo-bravo, Guarda-rios-comum, Abibe-comum, Cuco-canoro, Águia-pesqueira, Milhafre-preto, Milhafre-real and Águia-rabalva.
During migration seasons, in addition to a large number of different goose species, there is also a good chance of seeing Combatente, Pássaro-bique-bique, Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira, Narceja-comum Gaivota-pequena, Gaivina-preta and Gaivina-d'asa-branca.
