Descrição
Falkenhagener See is a shallow, elongated lake in Falkensee. Forests, small settlements, and open spaces surround the lake, giving it a calm, suburban‑nature feel. Falkenhagener See is a glacial lake, about 44 hectares in size, roughly 2.2 km long. In the early 1990s, the lake underwent a major desilting and restoration project to prevent ecological collapse; water levels are now stabilized with inflow from the Havelkanal. The western shore features the Vogelinsel, a small island important for birds. Birds you can see around the lake include Cisne-vulgar, Ganso-comum, Zarro-negrinha, Zarro-comum, Galinha-d'água, Galeirão-comum, Guarda-rios-comum, Chapim-palustre, rouxinol-dos-caniços, Chapim-rabilongo, Estrelinha-de-poupa, Trepadeira-azul, Lugre and Escrevedeira-dos-caniços.
