Descrição
Get up early with high tide, before the dogwalkers appear, and the beach will have plenty of birds in easy reach of a short stroll. Ostraceiro, Maçarico-real, Garça-real and Perna-vermelha-comum are all likely on the beach around the waterline. Rola-do-mar, Gralha-cinzenta and Alvéola-branca ssp yarrellii may be more likely on exposed seaweed or flotsam around the tide mark. Gralha-calva is also possible. Corvo-marinho-de-crista is most likely hauled out on rocky outcrops, although Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas is becoming more common in recent times. Guincho-comum is common with occasional Gaivota-de-cabeça-preta. Eider-edredão and Pato-real are likely in the water.
For a slightly longer walk a path goes along the cliffs at the north end of the bay where Petinha-marítima, Cartaxo-comum and Gralha-de-bico-vermelho could be encountered.
