In spring, when the meadows are flooded, the area is full of waders such as Maçarico-de-bico-direito , Perna-vermelha-comum , Perna-verde-comum , Narceja-comum , Combatente; and ducks (e.g. Marreco , Pato-trombeteiro , Frisada , Pato-branco).
This is one of the few places in central Poland where you can regularly encounter Maçarico-real. Other rare species that appear here regularly include Cegonha-preta and Pisco-de-peito-azul.
