Laguna Dulce near Campillos is a fantastic find. Small but productive. The screen hide is just off a main road with easy parking and bench seats and even a couple of picnic tables, but it's very quiet. Definitely punches above its weight with birds such as Mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto, Pato-de-rabo-alçado, Mergulhão-pequeno, Mergulhão-de-crista, Zarro-comum, Frisada, Pato-real, Tartaranhão-caçador, Pintassilgo, Galeirão-comum, and Galinha-d'água right in front of the screen amongst the rushes. Spring is a great time to see mating behaviour, nest building etc. There are three wonderful smaller lagoons amongst the fields (one has a hide) just south of this main one too with lovely species such as Rola-comum, Borrelho-grande-de-coleira, Flamingo-comum, Pernilongo, Alfaiate, and Codorniz.

Laguna Dulce is just off the A384 east of Campillos. A car is needed as the main and other lagoons are spread out and down small country roads or off the main road. It's a tiny track that loops off the west-bound lane (you'll have to turn around and go back if you're coming from the Campillos direction) and then rejoins the highway. There is nothing else along this track and there is plenty of room for parking right next to the screen.
