The walk along the beach North of El Cotillo is varying between rocky lava fields and small bays with white sand. Here Garça-branca-pequena and Pilrito-sanderlingo can be seen, but also Rola-do-mar and Borrelho-de-coleira-interrompida.
A bit further in inland (see map) is breeding ground for Alcaravão, along the road and path you can see Pintarroxo-trombeteiro, Toutinegra-tomilheira, Corre-caminho and calhandrinha-das-marismas. In the area also Abutre do Egipto and falcão-peregrino can be seen.
According to ebird Cagarra-do-mediterrânico / Bobo-grande and Rabo de palha has been seen.
