Descrição

Parc Mon Repos is a tranquil park located along the shores of Lake Geneva, featuring manicured gardens, woodland areas, and a scenic lakeside promenade. The park’s mix of habitats provides an ideal environment for a variety of bird species.

In spring and summer, you can spot Pato-real, Cisne-vulgar, and Mergulhão-de-crista swimming in the lake, while the surrounding trees and shrubs are home to Felosa-comum, Chapim-azul, Pombo-bravo, and melro. Migratory swallows can often be seen flying overhead.

During autumn and winter, the shore attracts Galeirão-comum, Zarro-negrinha, and Mergulhão-pequeno. Frango-d'água and Guarda-rios-comum are occasionally seen along the lake’s edge.

Particularly during migration periods, you can occasionally see waders on the shore, such as Pilrito-comum, Maçarico-das-rochas or even Rola-do-mar.

Gulls rest on the rocky outcrop in the water, in winter including Gaivota-parda and, in lower numbers, gaivota-da-asa-escura. On windless days, it is also worth bringing a scope and searching the lake area for rare winter visitors: Mergulhão-de-pescoço-castanho, Pato-preto and Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo are reported quite regularly, and even Mobêlha-grande and Pato-de-cauda-afilada have been spotted from the park.

The peaceful setting, combined with beautiful views of the lake and the Alps, makes Parc Mon Repos an ideal spot for birdwatching and enjoying nature.
