Descrição
The Bakırçay Delta is located where the Bakırçay River flows into Çandarlı Bay. The area has lagoons, small sand islets, and salt marshes. It serves as a habitat for numerous bird species, especially during the winter months. The Bakırçay Delta is recognized as an Important Bird Area (IBA).
I walked along the gravel road on the coast line towards the East, starting at Asnur Tatil Sitesi. In the ponds there were numerous waders that I could see from short distance, like Pilrito de Temminck, Pilrito-pequeno, Perna-verde-comum and Seixoeira. More in the distance there were Colhereiro and Cegonha-preta. Reaching the lagoons at the south-eastern edge you can find Flamingo-comum, Pelicano-vulgar, Pelicano-crespo, Pernilongo and others.
