An understated nature reserve that attracts a lively and interesting range of birds. One viewpoint encourages the mingling of birdwatchers with passers-by and this generates conversation, information and, maybe, interest.
Among the birds you can see here are Merganso-pequeno, Mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto, Pato-trombeteiro and Maçarico-das-rochas.

There is access from Amwell Lane, where there is limited unofficial car parking (take care when crossing the railway); alternatively, one my cycle up the tow path.
Footpaths connext the tow path with the interior of the reserve.

One hide is adjacent to the towpath, but can be closed during the nesting season. The tow path can be busy with joggers, dog-walkers and walkers. No facilities on site.
