Descrição
The chief attraction in the area is the main part of the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, adjacent to the river and the sea, but the Castle Water area has its own character and habitat. There's grazing land, reedbeds and open water bordered by strips of woodland, attracting a range of birds that varies from that on the more open pebble drifts on the coast.
Detalhes
Acesso
There's no car park; instead one can park on the grass verge near the footpath on Harbour Road at the bridge over Rye Harbour Sewer (a drainage channel, not a foul water drain). Alternatively, one can access the area via a footpath at the western end of the reserve. Either way, access is on foot and most of the footpaths are unsuitable for wheelchairs. There are no toilet or refreshment facilities on site.
