Descrição
Chobham Common is important for its environment - dry heathland is rare and it has been reduced in area, by development and roads. A walk across the rolling site can give a sense of wilderness rare in south-east England (despite overflights from Heathrow). In summer, evening visits are assured of hearing, and possibly seeing, Noitibó da Europa. Galinhola may also be seen. Chobham Common is managed by Surrey County Council and Surrey Wildlife Trust.
This article describes only that part of Chobham Common south of the M3 motorway.

Chobham Common is used for recreational walking and, consequently, there are several car parks on its perimeter. Click on a P in the map for directions. Longcross railway station is 1 mile away. The site is criss-crossed by several paths, and a principal route cuts east-west across it. It's a good idea to remember landmarks as the curving footpaths can confuse one's sense of direction. The suggested walking routes on the map are not exhaustive, but they cover high and low ground and an area of wetland.
Wheelchair access is limited, with a recommended route from Longcross carpark. Visitors are urged to remain on paths, to avoid disturbance to wildlife and damage to a sensitive environment.
