Cors Ddyga and Malltraeth Marsh is one of the largest lowland wetlands in Wales with lakes, ponds, ditches, reedbeds and grasslands. The grassland supports one of the largest colonies of Abibe-comum in Wales. The area contains also Narceja-comum, Frango-d'água, Felosa-malhada, Garça-branca-grande, Garça-branca-pequena and varied raptors - peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro, Esmerilhão, Ógea, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, falcão-peregrino, Águia-d'asa-redonda, Milhafre-real, Coruja-do-nabal, Águia-pesqueira and Corvo. Ganso-de-bico-curto, Zarro-bastardo and Merganso-de-poupa visit in winter.

Easy access from the A5 or A55 roads. Cycling is a very effective way of getting around the narrow lanes that crisscross the reserve. Nearest bus stop is at Pentre Beirw near the RSPB reserve. The reserve entrance is at the west end of Caerau Street but there does not appear to be car parking here. Note: Much of the reserve floods in winter.
