Descrição
Croft Castle and Bircher Common is good for nesting passerines and other woodland birds. Felosa-assobiadeira, Cruza-bico-comum, Dom-fafe, Lugre. Galinhola, Cartaxo-comum, warblers, some wetland birds at Croft which also has fallow deer, bug hotels and native crayfish. At Bircher and the Croft hillfort there are areas of gorse, good for Cartaxo-comum and Pintarroxo-comum. Possible Narceja-galega in winter.

On the B4362 between Mortimers Cross and Ludlow. Parking available at both sites. Click on a P in the map to get directions. Access to Bircher Common is up a steep narrow lane with parking on the grass next to the houses. The circular walks shown on the map are each about 5 km.
