At Ewelme the overgrown watercress beds provide shelter for rodents, which in turn attracts bird predators such as coruja-da-igreja / coruja-das-torres, Milhafre-real, 3 egret species and Garça-real. Smaller birds include Verdilhão-comum, Pintassilgo, Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto and Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, pursued by Gavião da Europa. King's Pool may have Guarda-rios-comum, Mergulhão-pequeno, Galinha-d'água, Zarro-negrinha and Galeirão-comum.

From Oxford take A423 south for 12 miles then minor road left through Benson. There is no car park at the Watercress beds but onstreet parking in the village centre, plus car park near playground. Reserve access is free and unrestricted. Visitor centre admission £3, restricted hours.
