At Flag Lane North Bridle Path Pond you have a high chance of seeing a mating pair of Guarda-rios-comum and their young fishing and feeding. The Guarda-rios-comum nest in the Chester Zoo ground and use the canals to travel to this pond. Other birds you can see in the area are Trepadeira-do-bosque, Marrequinha-comum, Galeirão-comum, Galinha-d'água and Pato-real.
