The Great Orme headland is a massive chunk of limestone that rises 207m straight out of the sea. The sea cliffs, limestone grassland, heathland and woodland support a big variety of birds. The cliffs are host to colonies of seabirds (such as Arau-comum, Gaivota-tridáctila, Torda-mergulheira). The Great Orme is also home to many resident and migrant land birds including Corvo, Mocho-galego and falcão-peregrino. Occasionally Gralha-de-bico-vermelho is spotted. Also lots of seabirds on the sea. Like gaivota-da-asa-escura, Alcatraz-comum, Gaivota-argêntea, Ganso-patola, Arau-d'asa-branca, Corvo-marinho-de-crista and Pato-preto.

There are lots of different walks up and around the Great Orme summit in Llandudno. The Great Orme Nature Trail is a circular walk around the headland, starting and finishing at the summit. The trail is clearly marked. The long route is 6.5 km, the short route 5.5 km.
